Discovery Room Education Trailer

Together, we can be more aware

An interactive, mobile exhibit that helps adults recognize warning signs of substance use in a simulated bedroom and learn how to talk with loved ones.
Jay Barton's parents Sally and Lee; sisters Sarah and Tricia

Why It Matters

Many families don’t realize that evidence of substance use is often in plain sight. The Discovery Room equips families with knowledge to recognize the signs of drug use, and begin building the tools to approach their loved one with compassion – not confrontation.

Dedicated in Loving Memory

Honoring Jay Barton (Huntsville High, ’02), who lost his life to overdose on July 5, 2016. The project was spearheaded by Jay’s parents, Lee and Sally Barton, who have actively supported NOMA since its beginning. The Bartons and their daughters have also hosted two Jay Barton Invitational Golf Tournaments with proceeds benefiting NOMA .
