Join us as we celebrate NOMA’s 10th Anniversary with the annual End Addiction HSV Walk Saturday, August 8th from 9 – 11:30 a.m. at Big Spring Park, downtown Huntsville, AL.
It quickly grew into an event that draws people of all walks of life throughout Huntsville and neighboring cities. It provides an opportunity to connect to resources and other individuals who have walked similar paths.
The End Addiction Walk is a place to celebrate recovery and honor the lives lost as a result of substance use disorders.
The End Addiction HSV Walk is an opportunity for groups to raise awareness and continue to lessen the stigma associated with substance use disorders.
Families, friends and groups form fundraising teams to raise funds to support the mission of Not One More Alabama (NOMA) so that we can continue to offer these events free of charge.
Since 2016, NOMA has been inspiring hope to the many people impacted by addiction by providing educational programs, fellowship opportunities, resources and support for individuals and their families.
Fundraising teams serve many purposes:
All NOMA Fundraising Teams will be provided with a sign to carry during the End Addiction HSV Walk that identifies them as a Fundraising Team. The team that raises the largest sum will be given the opportunity to share their “Why” on stage during the program, and will be the official leader of the walk.
Teams raising $1,000 or more will be recognized.
Every year, we are excited to see the exhibit area grow with organizations and businesses related to recovery and support.
There is no fee for 501(c)3 nonprofit organizations or mutual aid and recovery support groups, including organizations such as AA, Celebrate Recovery, Recovery Dharma, and similar community based programs.
All other organizations and businesses must be a current sponsor of NOMA at any sponsorship level in order to exhibit at the End Addiction HSV Walk.
To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, please visit our Sponsorship page or contact NOMA Executive Director [email protected] / 256-293-9221.
Please note that exhibitors are not permitted to sell merchandise during the event.
All participating organizations and exhibitors must have a mission that aligns with the mission of Not One More Alabama.

Volunteers are the heart of an awareness event like the End Addiction Walk. Their time, compassion, and dedication help transform a simple gathering into a powerful community movement of hope, remembrance, recovery, and support.
If you have completed a volunteer application in the past, you should be in our data base and someone will reach out to you about the End Addiction Walk. If not, please click the button below to sign up as a volunteer.
Volunteers help set up and take down, welcome participants, assist families, staff resource tables, serve refreshments, share information, and offer encouragement throughout the day.
Events focused on substance use disorder and recovery often carry deep emotional meaning for participants. Many attendees are grieving the loss of a loved one. Others are celebrating recovery milestones, supporting someone currently struggling, or searching for hope and connection.
Volunteers provide the human touch that makes these events meaningful. A smile, kind word, helping hand, or listening ear can make a lasting impact on someone who may be walking through one of the hardest seasons of their life.
Volunteers also make it possible for nonprofit organizations like NOMA to maximize community impact while keeping events accessible and welcoming to all. Their willingness to serve demonstrates the power of people coming together to fight stigma, raise awareness, honor lives lost, and support recovery in our community.
Simply put, events like the End Addiction Walk would not be possible without volunteers. They are not just helping with an event. They are helping build hope.
Recovery gives us a reason to celebrate and inspires HOPE. The annual Recovery Circle celebration has become an important, emotional part of the End Addiction Walk.
Whether you’ve been in recovery for 40 years or 4 days, we will have a coin for you and we will celebrate your sobriety.
With each milestone, the circle expands and hope grows for those living, or seeking, a life of recovery.
One of NOMA’s most popular booths are Conscious Ink intentional temporary tattoos that are wearable reminders for inspiration, transformation and manifestation.
Did you know that the average person has 4,800 negative thoughts a day? A positive message (for example a temporary tattoo) disrupts those thoughts and allows you to consciously replace them with new affirming ways of thinking.
Stop by for a FREE temporary tattoo. We will have an assortment to fit your needs.
Remembering those we have lost is an important part of the End Addiction Walk.
You are welcomed to bring a photo of a family member to place on the Memorial Wall and/or write a message remembering that loved one.
Family members sometimes write directly on the Memorial Wall, bring a photo, or write a message on the materials that we are honored to provide.
Nearby you will see an area with 844 purple flags. Each one representing someone from the state of Alabama that died from a drug overdose in 2025, according to provision reports from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH).
This is the third consecutive year of declining overdose death rates. ADMH supplied nearly 97,000 free naloxone kits statewide since 2023, equipping organizations like NOMA, first responders, treatment centers and community allies with the lifesaving drug.
This aggressive effort to make lifesaving medication available, in addition to expanded community prevention and opioid settlement-funded initiatives are surely key factors in this significant decline.
NOMA will be distributing free naloxone (narcan) again this year. Supplies are limited. Look for signage or ask a volunteer where to get yours.
NOMA will never forget those we have lost and will continue to provide opportunities for families to memorialize their loved one.
